Well, we are off on vacation for a week and a day, so I’ll be signing off for a bit. Kathryn and I are going to Germany! Bavaria, to be exact. Munich, Nurenberg, Neuendettelsau, and a little ski resort called Mittenwald.

TITLE: “Grace Abounds…More Than Fairnessâ€
A Sermon on Faith and Good Works
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Our text for today is the parable of the men working in the vineyards from St. Matthew chapter twenty.
This morning’s parable is about the grace of God and the fairness of God. The grace of God is that He sent His Son to die in our place, to forgive our sins, and to draw us into His loving embrace. Our life in God is not measured in comparison to others. There are no degrees of sonship in God’s family. You are either in or out. Either you are a child of God or you are a child of the devil. Fortunately for us, you are in by virtue of your baptism into Christ. As St. Paul writes in Galatians 3, “…for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.†(Galatians 3:26-27 ESV) Continue reading
